*Avery smiled at the woman and used his other hand to brush crumbs from her shoulders and lap. It was good to see her with such… vitality.* We’ll have to get some more bread later. A lot more. Do you want to rest, Odette? Or bathe? Or… w-whatever you’d like.
Ples grinned when Odette took his hand. Hand holding, he felt, was an extremely intimate act. A handshake is casual, but this form of elongated contact struck a chord deep within his ticking chest. He brought their clasped hands up to his cheek - one of the few places on his body that radiated any amount of warmth - and sighed.
[/ Odette smiled, leaning back further in the chair and snuggling into the jacket. She squuezed both mens hands, though perhaps Ples’ a little tighter. ]
I want to stay…right here.
[/ she stayed awake for a few minutes longer before finally drifting off into sleep but even then her grip never slackened ]
*When he noticed Odette had fallen asleep, Avery looked at Ples for direction. He didn’t want to wake the swan maiden up, but it couldn’t be good for her to sleep in the chair, and what were they going to do about her grip on them?*
Ples shot Avery a slightly worried look. What now? He spoke quietly.
W-we…do you think we can carry her to the room down the hall? W-we can…cross this bridge *he lifted their hands slightly* wh-when we get to it.
